Have you ever come across a true "Gem" of a guitar amongst the the endless sea of stuff out there? I'm talking something that played at a level of greatness way above it's pre-determined price range. If so, please, share.

From my own experience, my Jackson DK2M I found exceptional, even compared to another guitar of the same model and a gibson les paul studio of my friends which is an awesome guitar it's self. And I'm not sure but mine has a stunningly beautiful birds eye maple fret board however all other Jackson DK2M's i have seen just have a plain maple fretboard, correct me if many have it but yes, ineresting indeed.
Jackson DK2M
Washburn WD-18SW
Ibanez RGR421EXFM
Genz Benz El Diablo 100w -> Framus Dragon 412
Boss GE-7
Ibanez TS-9

Definitely not a JEM.

I once played an LP copy by a company called Richwood. It was godly, more so than some Gibsons I'd tried, and it was only £400.
