I've been looking for a good distortion pedal and got a chance to go to my local music store yesterday. I've been looking for a digitech hardwire tl-2, metal muff, and seymour duncan twin tube mayhem.

They had the tl-2 in so I tried that out, it was a pretty good pedal. I asked them if they had the twin tube mayhem and they said they'll be getting some soon and recommended the blackstar distx instead.

I tried it out and was impressed.

Also, some other customer said I should try the sachurator joe satriani signature.

I didn't like it too much.

I've heard the metal muff and out of all the ones I've heard the blackstar was the best. The only one I have to hear ist the twin tube mayhem wich I hear hasn't got much gain but I hope to hear it soon.

I've heard mixed opinions on the blackstar. It seems to be love/hate.
Can anyone give any recomendations or opinions.

Budget = £100 (flexible)

Don't even try and recommend a new amp, it's not going to happen.

But there may be better pedals I've never tried or even heard of.

Could be months until they have one in. But my main concern is how far out of my budget it is, so it had better be worth the exta £50. If it is only a little better than the distx then it isn't worth buying since £50 is half the cost of the blackstar on top of the original price.

I just want to know if it is worth 50% more money than the DistX.

If the seymour duncan is only 10% better, it isn't worth getting.

I'm already looking at the TT Mayhem.

Damage control is wayy out of my price range.

Well the GuitarCentre sells the Seymour overpriced then.

But that's a great price for the Damage Control.

Does GuitarCentre ship to the UK?

I had no idea Blackstar made pedals, I've got to try that one.

In any case, I've got a TL-2 myself and if it was human I'd make love to it. It's very flexible, giving me everything from rich solo sounds to incredibly heavy rhythm sounds. Plus, it's build like a tank.

I said I've played it and liked the Blackstar better, so that one is out of the question now. Thanks anyway.

I think blackstar only make overdrive/distortion pedals though.

I relize it's not the demonizer, I'm not blind. My local store sells the TT for around £150 but it's not that much cheaper. I can't find anywhere that stocks the Solid Metal to try it.
