Its a type of chord, made with a minor 3rd interval, then another minor 3rd interval on top of that, a B diminished chord would consist of B, D, and F with the interval of B to D being a minor 3rd, and D to F also being a minor 3rd. Additionally the interval of B to F is a tritone or diminished 5th interval, which is were the name comes from.
