Too lazy for search so here it goes...

What are some songs that use a riff that is very similar to another song. Examples I can think of are I Never Wanted by As I Lay Dying uses the same intro riff as Change In The House of Flies by Deftones and Come As You Are by Nirvana uses the same riff as The Eighties by Killing Joke. Anybody have others?

Led zeppelin and every song from before 1950.

Intro from Jeff Buckley's Eternal life and intro to Can't Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
And what is more, there's been a bloody purple nose and some bloody purple clothes that were messing up the lobby floor. It's just apartment house rules so all you 'partment fools remember : one man's ceiling is another man's floor.

The whole of Dani California. Originally written by Tom Petty. Mary Jane's Last Dance.

I could see that, but it would be a bit of a stretch.

And at Kensai's comment.

Nah, on the Tom Petty. There's sections that definitley aren't in Last Dance, and the whole groove is different. I don't know, one time I accidentaly "wrote" the riff to Storm in a Teacup, then I was listening to Stadium, and was like, WTF?

They only stole one Thin Lizzy song.
Seriously - covers live is one thing, but a whole album of them? Granted, it's better than St Anger, but so is being sodomized with a telegraph pole.
