I am looking at buying a new amp head and I was told to try the B-52 AT 100. I play mostly Metallica and other rock and I have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Is this a good amp to get if not what should I get. Also I heard that with the B-52 it isn't great but if you replace the tubes it is one of the best amps you can buy. How do I know what is a good tube and what kinds should I get. Also how much would all this cost.

tubes are easy to replace, you just find where they are in the head (usually very accessible as you are _supposed_ to replace tubes), pull out the old ones, put in the new ones. like changing a battery but slightly more fragile.
Biasing is another issue, but i cant help you with that as my amp doesnt need biasing.
