i need an OD pedal or another pedal that can boost my solos.

i play punk rock so its pretty much just rythem stuff but when i go into a solo i want it to just stand out and have a really good tone and cut through the music.

my guitar is a gibson sg and my amp is a traynor ycv40.

Any overdrive or clean boost will do. The MI Audio Boost n Buff is a good clean boost.

Get an EQ pedal!

If you are simply looking for a pedal to boost a solo, the EQ pedal is the one for you. It will do three things for you:
1. It can shape your solo sound to exactly what you want,
2. Turn the level up and it acts as a boost when you stomp on it. Your solos now cut through more and you can get even more overdrive and bite to them.
3. You can obviously use it as an EQ pedal for any guitar work you do. Really get your guitar to the tone you want.

Boss GE-7 EQ pedal -- or any EQ pedal -- is what you need.

EQ pedal would work better than an OD in my opinion...especially if you're just wanting to boost a solo. Look into the MXR 10-band...it has a gain slider too. Great for boosting solos.

Maybe a BBE Sonic stomp sonic maximizer? I think it boosts you sound.

I use a SD-1 super overdrive. Just put the volume up a bit, the tone up a bit, take all the overdrive off (IMO) and let 'er rip.

Uhh I believe that's Joe Satriani's signature distortion pedal which came out recently, great piece of kit.

As far as a boost goes maybe a tubescreamer OD...they can add a fair bit of volume without too much gain or it can boost and add gain.

Otherwise you can actually buy boost pedals...MXR make one I believe.

One simple option might be to look at a volume pedal. You can just make your guitar louder at any point.
