Hi people,
just a quick question as am new to reading tabs.
the below tab is from intro enter sandman.
could someone please explain the 2 lots of 6 strings / dotted lines
i am guessing that they dont get played together unless 2 guitars playing?
is top 6 one guitar and bottom 6 a second guitar?
thanks in advance of reply to my dumb newbie question,
we all gotta start somewhere!

If the tab sheet is showing them both together like that for the same bars then yes, it will be two different guitar parts.

Free's nailed it of course, but I figured I'd chime in and tell you that that tab isn't correct for Enter Sandman. A string stays on the 7th fret, doesn't go up to the 8th.

...Also, I found it easier playing open G's instead of the 5th fret on the D, but that's more a matter of preference.
