Howdy.

Anybody know of any decent freeware I can use to convert AVI files into a format I can burn them onto a disc as and watch them on a DVD player?

Cheers

You don't need to convert them; you just need some sort of movie software that can export to DVD (most can). Windows Movie Maker, Nero, ShowBiz (came with my parent's printer eons ago), etc. Google that sort of stuff.

Use ConvertXtoDVD to convert & burn them in the same process. It's fairly fast. I've used it for atleast 150 movies and it's flawless.

+1 - otherwise I think you could use WinAVI Converter. They both cost money I think but if you know your way around the net it's not hard to get a free copy
