see if you can get a used boss ce-2 chorus japanese one if not get a boss ce-5 and for your delay get a mxr carbon copy.

MXR carbon copy and a Visual sound liquid chorus. I've hard bad things about the holy grail.. Mostly noise, reliability issues. Thats why i got a Digitech Hardwire rv7
#6
EXH Small Clone or Clone Theory for the chorus...and for an analog delay, the MXR Carbon Copy is a good choice.

(At the risk of sounding like an idiot)

If you have a guitar (with a tone pot) and an amp (with usualy at least bass, mid and treble knobs) why would you need a EQ pedal? Do you have it on all the time or just when you want to dramaticaly change your tone, say for, a middle 8 or something?

both my guitars hav tone pots
and my amp has a 3 band EQ

i just want that little bit extra freedom when i play

hence why guitarists use EQ pedals

EQs have many uses...especially if you get one as versatile as the MXR 10-band. You can use it to dial in a tone that you will use all the time, you can use it to boost mids, you can use it for volume/gain increases during solos, etc.

Get the MXR carbon copy for delay.

I heard that the holy grail starts to hiss unless you have a dedicated power supply for it.

The Line 6 verbzilla will fill all your reverb needs. If anything it has too many options. I've heard people say it's noisy when turned off but I've never had any problems with mine.

Tech21 just updated their Boost D.L.Y. pedal to include a tap tempo. It's an analogue delay with a built in clean boost, and is remarkably good. The MXR Carbon Copy isn't bad, but there is certainly much better on the market.

The EHX holy grail is a decent reverb for the money. Besides the Small Clone and Clone Theory I already mentioned...the MXR M-134 and Voodoo Lab Chorus Pedal are pretty good as well. As is the EXH Electric Mistress..but its also a flanger pedal.

EDIT: the visual sound H20 was good too...but I didn't care for the echo portion of the pedal.

For chorus, i would suggest the one that Visual Sound, its called like H20 or something, but its
really good.
