Current Guitar: Squier Strat
Current Amp: Squier Sidekick 10W

At the end of summer I will have:

A Schecter Blackjack guitar

+

Peavey Vypyr 30W with a Sanpera I footswitch.

I was just wondering how good of a combo this is and how much my tone will improve? Thanks.

Your tone will be much better and more versatile (due to the Vypyr) although I'd keep the Strat for single coil sounds as well.

Greg what did you send me??

It will improve, but you should really spend more on your amp than on your guitar.

If all you had to go on was the forum you'd think a Decimator could cure noise caused by dodgey stage lighting and restock the ocean's population of sperm whales

exponentially according to the equation T=e^(3a^2+2g), where T=tone, a=1 with an amp replacement, and g=1 with a guitar replecement. They're both currently at .2

Your tone will improve significantly. When I compare my Vox 30watt to my squier, the difference is incredible. Versatility, depth, all have increased 100-fold. I would also agree with the above user that spending more on an amp than guitar will help. I got a new guitar which helped a tad with tone but the amp was the key ingredient.

it'll increase exponentially,
but I wouldnt reccomend active pickups with a modelling amp

I disagree. You should spend more money on a guitar that plays well.
