Hi there, i'm just hijacking my big brother's login for a quick question while he's away.

I'm pretty new at this game, but today my new amp arrived, a Peavey Classic 30 Head and 212 cab, but i have a question.....
are pedals like attenuators, delay, compressors etc meant to go to the effects send, effects return or between the guitar and amp?
Sorry about this newby question but i've gotta start somewhere,
any advice would be great.
My gear:
Fender 50th anniv American Strat Deluxe NICE
Fender Eric johnson Strat SEXY
Gibson SG Special Gothic II RAW
Ibanez JS 1000 VERSATILE

it can go in either, but many people like them in the loop.

try them both and see which you like better?

p.s. don't hijack your brother's account

when you say, "in the loop", do you mean between the guitar and amp?

the effects send and return inputs are called the "effects loop"

this is how it works

your amp is a pre-amp and a power amp

preamp > Loop out > your pedals > Loop in> power amp

effects like modulation (chorus, flanger) arguably sound better in the effects loop. but like i said, try it in the loop and before your amp and see which you like better.

no but PLEASE, PLEASE DON"T TURN ON YOUR AMP WITHOUT THE SPEAKER CONNECTED.

YOU'LL FRY TEH AMP. ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SPEAKER LOAD CONNECTED BEFORE TURNING IT ON.
