Hey UG, well my class is gonna have an assembly after a few weeks, and since it's going to be our last year together as a class, we want to put up a really good band performance. We have an awesome drummer(he can play ANYTHING, believe me-Dragonforce, All That Remains, LoGod-whatever you may care to name), a really really good keyboardist, a good, experienced bassist, and me on guitar(I'm ok, around intermediate or so level). This is the first time we guys will be playig together, as the bassist and the keyboard are in one of the school bands, and me and the drummer in the other, and although good friends, we're only playing together because we're in the same class.

Now it would be nice if you guys could recommend a good hard rock/metal song with (preferably)some good drumming(double bass bass, etc), some nice guitar riffs and solo(s), or atleast potential for guitar and keyboard improv. at the end. Very importantly, the vocals have to be clean (stopped us from doing some Lamb of God). The song should be up to Cowboys from Hell difficulty.

Thanks a lot!

PS- If this belongs to the bandleading forum, or some other forum, just let me know, I'll post it there.

Angel of Death... It'll blow their minds away if you turn the mic for the kicks up =P
Idk, that'd be my choice for a way to go though... And I could see keyboard improvision happening

Metal song with nice riffs and solo's, clean vocals and double bass drumming? Painkiller! The whole album, really.
Dunno about what the keyboardist is gonna do, though. Would be cool to hear a version of Painkiller with keyboard improv!
Can't actually recall anything that resembles what you want that includes keyboard.

Master of Puppets is really overplayed at our school, and we're all sick of MEtallica anyway.

And can't do Bodom, we need clean vocals.

What about an oldie? You could put that style on 'Boys are Back in Town' by Thin Lizzie and if you can arrange the two guitar parts as guitar and keyboard, you'd have a winner.

How about some Dreamtheater? Pull me under, Lie, Misunderstood, Forsaken?

Or something power metal-ish - Maybe some Sonata Arctica? Full Moon, Victoria's Secret, 8th Commandment, Black Sheep?

Kamelot - center of the universe?

Something by Evergrey? - the great deciever, blinded?

Or for ****s and giggles you could all dress up like Turisas and Play 'Battle Metal' with singing vocals rather than that speaking/growling/stuff he does.

Well, I guess what is an idea. What would be one of CoB's easier songs, without sweep picking/some insane shredding?

Something like Sixpounder?

If you're gonna do that how about playing "Downfall" thats not that insane, plus quite fun to play.

I think mask of sanity is fairly easy, but idk, I haven't listened to bodom for a while (Not much for death metal anymore, I'm a thrash kinda guy =D)

Go with some brutal or technical death metal songs.

Try necrophagist songs, which have really good guitar work and solos.

Personal favorite song to play right now is "the living doorway" by decrepit birth. One of my favorite bands atm.

Vocals....um.... yeah

IDK if you can find any necrophagist songs without sweep picking or insane shredding so I'm guessing that band is out of the question.

Angel of Death was a good suggestion. Good Ol metal right there.
