ok for gretsch build im gonna start hollowing out the guitar soon but if the mahogany is 31 mm thick then how deep should i hollow it out so it doesnt fall through as im using one piece

i know this is thin but im adding a maple top thats 5 or 6 mm thick so it will be around
37mm thick in total

and also how do i get the pickups, strings, bridge and nut to line up
(using a ToM bridge)

cheers

I'd say you want about 3/8" of wood as the outer layer on a hollowbody to keep it sturdy, or 1/2" if you want it lightweight.

Line the TOM up with the center line on your blank/template, then mark where the posts need to be drilled if you can get your hands on a template.

make one. there's a couple threads about it around, or you can ask Bobby (metalwarrior40) to make you one in the Ultimate Template Thread.
