Two fold:

A) If you take a guitar tube amp and run a bass through it BUT use bass speakers with solid cones will it be alright? Because (not sure) I think the only real reason you can't pump a bass through a guitar amp is because of the speakers. 100 watt tube amp btw.

B) whats a good 200 dollar-ish bass amp? Just looking to be heard with a decent tone, nothing crazy.

You should probably go to the Bassguitarforums. There should be more people who can help you. Btw, did you look at SWR amps? I know they are good, but I dont know if they are budget...
