ive never done it before, i dont need to rewire or take them out, im just unscrewing them to get behind them. if it makes any difference, they have covers.

anything i should be careful of? just wanna make sure i dont f*ck anything up.

are you just trying to take the pickup quickly off the body or remove it completely? just unscrew the screws which hold the pickup directly to the body. so the pickup surrounds if it's got those, or take the pick-guard off if it's like a strat.
