Harvest > Porcelain Heart > The Grand Conjuration.

Using this order will transfer him from soft Opeth fan to hard Opeth fan.

Any of the ones produced by Steven Wilson

Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree are very similar, and Wilson adds a lot of PT to Opeth

I asked my son he said nothing but he just asked me he wants a psyachatrist (spelling?) Because he heard voices calling out his name. What a freak.

just show him opeth, all of their facettes and he will like it, or not. i don't really like using strategies to get people into certain bands.

Is it just me or does everyone have a differant favorite Opeth song or album? Like with Opeth no one can agree on a best song or album. Its just all over the place, are they really that consistant?

in a word..yes
they really are one of the most consistent bands i know.
i'm yet to be disappointed with even one of their albums

Agreed.

I have all but Orchid, and I can't say that they've put out an album that I'd call less than very good. I think Deliverance and Morningrise are the weakest though (even though they're both strong albums.)
