I wanted a champion 600 for a while, but one of my trusted friends at a local guitar shop said it would leave me wanting. He also recommended the pro junior. I want a straight up, no frills, one channel tube amp. Does any one have any experience with a pro junior?

You'll get a better bass response since the 600 has next to none, and when it does get bassy, it farts like your grandpa on thanksgiving. You'd need to upgrade the tubes and speaker (like I did) to remedy that, and after that $70 investment, you're getting up around the price of the PJ.

its basically a champ if i remember correctly, and has a 10 inch speaker. i wasnt impressed with the reissue champion 600, so i would rather have the pro junior. although i have heard they are plagued with reliability issues.

Yeah, it;s a champ with a tone knob, double the wattage and a 10 inch speaker. I'm not too worried about the reliability since the shop it self has a nice warranty deal.
