Hey All,

As ususal, I need some advice. I've pretty much got my Pedalboard the way I want it, with most of the effects I want. One slight problem I've run into is 'Hiss' - certain effects make more noise than others when my guitar isn't being played. Here is the list of offenders:

Digitech CF-7 Chorus Factory - Has 8 different Chorus features, and some make more of a hiss than others.

Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer - Moderate hiss, not terrible but not great either.

ProCo Turbo Rat - MAJOR MONSTER HISS! I took it out of the chain it was so bad!

I guess I don't even have to tell you that they make MUCH more noise when played together with one another! It's not an enormous problem, but I could definitely do with a solution of some kind.

I was talking to my friend and he told me I'd need a Noise Gate. I don't know much about these, but I did some research. The ones I've been looking at are:

BOSS NS-2 Noise Suppressor
Behringer NR100 Noise Reducer

Any opinions? ideas? I would greatly appreciate some direction here, folks.

Thanks in advance,

-Major Bludd

Will this noise gate wipe out the hiss from these pedals? Particularly the Turbo Rat?

If you put the pedal after the offender then yes. The Decimatior is a great investment.
Sig What?

Definitely not the Behringer.
DEFINITELY iSP Decimator if you can afford the extra 20-30 bucks,
but the NS-2 is a decent pedal too.
(I guess.)
