Basically, I'm teaching soon, and I was planning to make a youtube account to put lesson clips on for my students and give them a link to so if they forget what to practice, they can just look it up. To keep them inspired too, I was thinking of doing and posting some instrumental covers of music from video games(not including guitar hero and rock band since, as mass-distributed rock, I can just give them a CD of that), TV shows(Mainly anime since I've always found Japanese words to transfer well to six-string) and the like. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any they'd recommend, as well as where to find backing tracks and if this seems like a good idea.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Metal Gear Solid 2 theme
It's not originally done on guitar, but this vid shows that guitar works pretty well with it (he starts playing at 50 s)

Metal Gear Solid 4 Love Theme
This one is one of my favorites. Works so well on acoustic.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 or Megaman X covers or the Monkey Island theme. As for tv theme I recommend the X-Files theme.

- Epiphone Les Paul Standard Ebony Finish
- Hohner Hc-06 Classical guitar

-Roland Cube 30x
- Vox Wah-wah
Try the Adams Family or the Flinstones themes.

All MegaMan songs transfer VERY well to instrumental guitar rock/metal. Hell, I've even got one up in my profile. They all have fantastic melodies.

Also, if you plan on teaching some classical/acoustic guitar, check out some Final Fantasy stuff.

As far as TV shows, I know a lot of kids are into the anime on Adult Swim. So, just pick and choose some good themes from those shows.

As for the backing tracks, if you have a semi-decent DAW with guitar pro, you can make your own. Use something like Drumkit from Hell for the drums, Guitar pro for things like Keys/strings, and record your own guitars/bass and you're good to go.

Or perhaps you could ask some forum members for their assistance in creating some.

Daisuke Ishiwatari, who is the creator of the Guilty Gear series and does all the soundtracks is an AMAZING writer and guitar player. Check out the sound track to guilty Gear X and XX for sure.
Simpsons theme, Munsters and Adams Family. I'd love to hear a death metal version of the Brady Bunch, it'd be sick. Wah- ka- kow!
