I don't know if people get yelled at for these threads, but each persons tastes differ and they may be seeking different tones so I guess this is okay. I have a strat-style guitar that I'm fitting for pickups. I think I've decided on a Hot Rails middle and a Lil 59er neck, but I'm not so sure on the bridge. Looking for an EVH type rock tone from the bridge, heavy crunch with good harmonics, preferably a Seymour Duncan or Dimarzio. The guitar will be used mainly for 80s hard rock type stuff, keep in mind it will have a Floyd Rose. Running this through a Traynor YCV40 and a TS9.

Thoughts?

I'm confused, are you after a proper humbucker or a single-coil sized humbucker?

A humbucker, sorry, should have been more clear on that I suppose. It is routed HSS.

That's two different pickups.

Duncan Custom Custom gets my vote here, also look at the Dimarzio Norton though.

How much are you willing to spend?
I'm thinking either a Bareknuckle VHII or a Bareknuckle Black Dog. And if those are too soft for you, get a Holy Diver.

you really need a lower output A2 PAF style pickup to get that Van Halen tone in the bridge.
