I was just browsing guitarfetish.com and seen they have these for sale.

Can someone explain what these are? Do they somehow go in your guitar? Anyone ever tried one? Are they hard to install by yourself even when it has a step by step guide?

They told me it would fit in my sg so I bought one. It was a lie, and the back cover still doesn't fit right. Do it to your strat not the sg. They're decent quality, but invest in a rechargable 9v because they eat batteries like no other.

Edit: mine didn't have a hh diagram, only ss and sss

Sid, did you wire yours up so that the battery was only connected when the cable was plugged into the guitar?

For that price you might be better off popping the guts out of a Vox amPlug and putting it in your guitar.

Nah, I have it wired so there's an 'off' position on the knob. The only problem is that people like to play my SG then not turn the knob back down. Regardless, after two years you burn through a ton of batteries regardless of how careful you are. It's easier to just spend $20 and get a rechargeable battery.

And instead of an Amplug, I'd put an MXR micro amp in there a la Jack White.
