Hey guys i installed new pickups, but the tone knobs only work when the volume is at 10. otherwise its like the tone knob is at 10. any suggestions for this?

you hooked up the pots wrong. you probably crossed your wipers or something

you possibly hooked them up in parallel. if you only get a resistance on your tone when your volume is all the way up it would have those symptoms. make sure you connected the grounds to the same lead and not the positives. it might be best to just ohm our your wires and restart from solder joint 1 (after installing the hardware) to avoid confusion

could it be as simple as a cold solder joint? any other ideas?

i meant the wipers in parallel, not the fixed posts, i don't know his configuration.

but i still say if it doesn't work, rewire it.

must have been a bad pot, cause i rewired it with new tone pots and everything seems to work fine
