So. How has 2009 been treating you over the past (roughly) three months?

Discovered any new bands? Favorite albums so far?

And, outside of music, any new movies worth talking about? Discovered any older films that have become favorites?

Basically anything that's new to you in 2009 and how you feel about it.

These past three months have really flew by on me, to be honest. While it does feel like a good amount of time has passed, it just doesn't feel like it's been three months.

Bands/Albums discovered (not bands FROM 2009, just bands and albums I've discovered since 2009 started):
Irepress
"You are the Conductor"- Caspian
Electric Wizard
The Evpatoria Report
"Terra Incognita"- Gojira
Imogen Heap
Nachtmystium
Unwed Sailor
Early Day Miner
Guster
Sufjan Stevens
"Acoustics"- Minus the Bear
Don Caballero
upcdowncleftcrightcabc+start
lovesliescrushing

Among many others.

I still can't beliebe the sheer amount of music I've come across already, and the fact that I still have nine more months.

Since this post is dragging on, I'll post my other things later.

Discuss.

This one time, I took a huuuuuge crap, but for some reason it wasn't in the toilet! "oh well, ghost crap", I thought.

Then, 3 months later, I was hyped to buy the new metallica CD, but was shocked to find my crap in there instead of a CD!

but yeah, nothing much has happened since then.

My girlfriend of 3 years cheated on me, everybody I know is dotted around the country and I spend every evening drinking on UG.

Yeah, it's been a brilliant few months.

When Kensai changed his to elmo, I changed mine in a moment of passion. I've made like 90 posts in the last few days, I'm around.

I discovered Tool (never was a fan until recently) and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Did you know the odds of a Vault-Tec shelter failing are 1,763,497 to 1?

So imagine life in a Vault-Tec Vault. Not just a future.
A brighter future... underground.

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

Other than my grandpa dieing, it was pretty solid.

Music wise I started getting into the The Fray, Mastodon and MGMT

Also I remembered a bunch of old bands I forgot about like Sum 41 and Blink 182.

I discovered DIAMOND PLATE on youtube, got head for the second time, and became an uncle.

Pretty good so far .

the empyrean - john frusciante. made me love 2009

Saying the Red Hot Chili Peppers have no talent is like saying Guy Fawkes didn't have an epic mustache.

Finally started reading The Dark Tower series. Regretting putting that off for so long.

Propagandhi's new album came out today, best album I have ever listened to.

I am in my last week of my 4th year apprenticeship(Power System Electrician) and I've got a 95% adverage.

Only downside is being apart from my fiance for the past 2 months

Albums picks of the year so far:

"Cosmogenesis"- Obscura
"Wrath"- Lamb of God (it's surprisingly good. Fun listen)
"Merriweather Post Pavillion"- Animal Collective
"Sol Eye Sun I"- Irepress (my album of the year so far)

Sadly, that's all I've heard from this year so far. I've still be trying to catch up on lot of the 2008 releases I missed, mostly.

With all the media blitz about Watchmen, I dug back into that book.
Also been listening to a lot of old 80's metal players, like Jake E Lee and Vivian Campbell. Been really digging on old horror movies by John Carpenter, like Halloween, The Fog, and The Thing.

not really much new musically, although i did make a new friend who likes rap a lot, so i've been around that quite a bit recently.
i've seen quite a few good movies, most notably slumdog millionaire and the wrestler (i think that was this year)
to be honest, not much has changed or anything. school is school, love life is love life, rosa is rosa.

I despise Pitchfork. I never visit the site, and, when I do, I never like what I see.

I despise Pitchfork. I never visit the site, and, when I do, I never like what I see.

because TS listed Sufjan Stevens on his post. Now that he knows about Pitchfork he will visit it weekly and only listen to the music he hears about from Pitchfork.

MWAHAHAHAAA!!!
