I was going to build my own sort of guitar, but I thought hell, why not build a banjo!

But what makes a banjo a banjo? How can I get that authentic sound???
I'm thinking of basing it on a skinned tambourine, is this a good idea?

Any general tips?

Thanks!

Tie her up and drive her into some woods, pour petrol over her and then ask her if she wants you back.

Anyone in Birmingham, England meet up for a Jam?

I have no idea, but a banjo sounds cool. A tambourine may work, because the neck is attached with two long bolts, one attached to the neck, and one attached to the other end of the tambourine. Id give it a try, sounds fun.
