I like the Valvetronix amps a lot but I've never found them that good for high gain sounds. Try a Peavey Vypyr.
Gibson Les Paul Studio with Catswhiskers pickups
PRS SE 'Floyd' Custom 24 with Creamery pickups
Fender Standard Stratocaster with DiMarzio pickups
Takamine GN30

i dont like the vypyrs cause i am afraid that they wont work 100% of the time.. and the vox amp is probably louder and heavier than the vypyr

whered you get this from?

the vypyr is a great modeling amp for 300, the only thing better i could think of would be trying to find an used ampeg VH-140C or used line 6 flextone. if you did stretch your budget though, you could get the b-52 at112 new for 360
periphery/bulb!

gear:
Ibanez RG7321 w/ D-sonic in bridge

Peavey 5150 mk ii & b52 4x12 cab

line 6 podxt for recording

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
