Just finished up this piece not too long ago. I think it's one of my best works to date.

"THIS WORLD'S NOT FINE THE WAY IT IS"

Am I cut out evenly to fit
into a life so intricate,
or am I just so out of it
that I can't even squeeze through.
Looking beyond another door,
hoping it hides what I ache for,
scan from the ceiling to the floor
to find nothing but dead air.
Could I survive another life,
Or would it be just like the first?
Full of nothing but wondering
and lying awake at night.

I lie alone.
Just waiting for the night to leave.
I miss the dreams
and that feeling of pure ecstasy.
I lie alone.
Just waiting on the sands of time
to run through the hourglass and
cover up these fears of mine.

Something that crawled into my mind
keeps telling me "That won't suffice."
Tried to press 'stop' a thousand times,
but the track is stuck on repeat.
In my own life I try to live.
Kind of hard when you have nothing to give
to a world that's fine the way it is.

I lie alone.
Just waiting for the night to leave.
I miss the dreams
and that feeling of pure ecstasy.
I lie alone.
Just waiting for the lights to rise
So I can sing the stories of how
I made it past those fears of mine.

This is the life I'm born to live.
Don't care if I have nothing to give,
'cause this world's not fine the way it is.
