Yeah pretty much what the title says. I'll be playin my first real gig at Concrete Street Amphitheater in Corpus Christi, Texas in front of 3500 skeptical Texas FCCLA members. So anyways I need some modern, popular stuff. If any one of you suggest Hey There Delilah I will give you a virtual slap to the face.
I hate mainstream but that's what the teenage crowd's into these days

So...help?

Unfortunatly, assuming you have a band, Sex on Fire by those Kings of Leon guys

Not a bad song
But better stuff is through history :P

Isn't Corpus Christi where they just had that Fight Club Scandal with that facility for mentally handicapped people?

Oh, and on topic, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Everlong by The Foo Fighters, practically anything by The Chili Peppers, or Zeppelin.

here's some generics...

Thunderstruck, Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long by ACDC
Sweet Child o Mine GNR
Stairway to Heaven LZ
Dream On -- original version
Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (oh how modern rock-y)
Sweet Home Alabama
Black Hole Sun Soundgarden
Jeremy Pearl Jam
Rooster, Alice in Chains
I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing
November Rain
one of those songs by Hinder - Lips of an Angel, Get Stoned, Better Than Me
some random emo stuff like Face Down in the Dirt, any fallout boy song
Waiting on the World to Change, Your Body is a Wonderland by John Mayer
Third Eye Blind song
Smooth by Santana and Rob Thomas
Picture by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow
You and Me, Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse
Here Without You, When I'm Gone by Three Doors Down

all generics, but there's no way that you'll go wrong with them.

EDIT: how could I forget Smells Like Teen Spirit. Also In the End by Linkin Park, you could probably do a Michael Jackson song, or bust out Youth of a Nation by POD. Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd. Most anything from Guitar Hero.

if you do smells like teen spirit, make sure your singer can do the curt cobain vocal style else you'll most likely get whiny people saying 'thats not how curt cobain sounded!'
