I want to know more of them. Can someone post what they are? I only know one (i.e. 3-1 or 7-5 and so on...)

022,133,244,355,466,577,688,799,81010,91111,101212,etc.

then repeat on the a,d,g strings.

Index finger on fret X and string Y, ring and little fingers on frets X+2 on sstrings Y+1 and Y+2 respectively, anywhere on the fretboard.

Except when Y>2

Power chords are basically chords with the first and the fifth, or the first fifth and seventh

example: 022, 577, 79, 244

Sweet. Sigged again!
There actually are a few shapes you can use for power chords. But you'll usually only see 244xxx. You could also use 224xxx (the root would be the middle note, B). Both of those can be used without the third note. Or If you can make those shapes bigger with 2446xx or 2244xx. If I'm in a drop tuning I often even use 5 string power chords (22256x)

Don't worry, my signature is almost like a daily quote.

Says something new every day. (so long as there was something small+siggable....)

Actually, I found something funnier in this same thread.

How did I miss it the first time, the world may never know.........

I also had to modify my signature to make it fit

/ok.. I'm going to try to be somewhat on topic this time

Learn some theory on how chords are formed, and you'll see a power chord is basically the same shape anywhere on the neck.

You don't need to learn powerchords.

A powerchord is just the root and 5th of a "normal chord" with an optional octave - usually that's the bottom 2 or 3 notes. So all you have to do to turn a chord into a powerchord is not play the notes you don't need - that's it. There's no point in specifically "learning" powerchords...if you learn your open chords, barre chords and the basics of chord construction which are all basic things you need to know anyway then you'll have learned all there is to know about powerchords without even realising it.

Quote by Capt_Clarkson
they are chords which have maximum power

that's it - from now on I will refer to powerchords as "Brolychords".
