The Flying V that I had more or less given to me is starting to act up...

It's got a grounding issue of somekind. Whenever I touch the strings/bridge/tailpiece it starts humming really bad. After awhile it will quit this, then start back up. Also the volume knob for the bridge pickup doesn't always work. You can have the knob turned to zero and still get a strong signal from the bridge pickup.

I think both problems are related, most likely a loose solder joint. The thing is I've never had a Flying V apart before. It looks like all the electronics are mounted to the pickguard but it's nice to know these things before you tear into it
