I'm really surprised there wasn't a thread on this already, so here goes:

Favourite Disney movies as a kid? Or songs, for that matter?

As metal as I'm sure you are , I know most people are of an age where Disney was in its prime during their childhood. Not like it is now. They haven't made a good movie for a while.

I liked the Lion King best.

Probably Dinosaur, probably just because I liked dinosaurs. From the classics i'd probably say the one with all the cats, I foget the name but it had something to do with cats (I think that was Disney, not sure though).

The Lion King kicked ass too, aswell as the Jungle Book (once again not sure if that's Disney).

I had to watch Alice in Wonderland three times a day for a week straight, because that was my niece's favorite movie.

You know, watching The Simpsons or Familly Guy or Futurama or South Park is no big evolution over a Disney movie...

I recently watched the Lion King again, first time in years, and I realised that it's not really a movie intended for children...there's a lot more to it than what I liked it for when I was a child.

It's based on Shakespeare's Hamlet so it's actually semi deep.

when I was little I used to like them all, all of those back in the early/mid 90s were awesome, they were so different from today I dont know if we've just matured or the inspiration has went balls lately. I mean all the cartoons I remember like street sharks etc were so awesome, but when I look at it today it's like... huh? I watched that?

I loved Lion King. Atlantis was decent. Emperor's New Groove was my favorite.

And rest assured, Disney will never make an animated movie nearly as good as anything 2002 and before.

I agree there. Their recent ones have been...weird. I remember seeing a trailer for 'Enchanted' and thinking "Omg, they're actually making animated films again". But no, I was to be dissappointed.

Now that I actually know more about music, I can really appreciate the amazing songs in some disney movies. Elton john did a great job on the Lion King, and Aladdin has great stuff too. Pretty much every disney movie has a few amazing songs that've been thought up by great composers.
