On my alpine white les paul Im having a sound problem. It just screeches when its plugged in to my amp but it only screeches when its on effects on clean it doesnt screech or anyhting then when I touch the strings when its squealing/screeching it stops sometimes its the small E sometimes the A sometimes the G sometimes the B its really starting to bother me so if anyone knows whats going on let me know and some solutions

Probably a pick-up grounding issue...

i actually recently changed the pickups and added more solder to the same area should I just move the soldering ground lower on the pot? like on a different position and its the same thing on both pickups

It stops when I touch the strings though and if it is feedback how do you stop feedback?

yeah on every single amp it is the same problem i even tried at a friends house on a different cab to to see if that wasnt the problem this is just driving me crazy!

Check the cables then?

If it was feedback, just sit further away from the amp, and turn the gain down.

Otherwise it could be somehting more serious.

Im not sure, im just guessing.
