Just got home from the Bloc Party concert in Toronto. I'm pretty pissed off, to say the least. About 20 minutes into the opening band's set, my best friend informs me that my backpack is open, and then closes it for me.

Prior to this event, I had bought a (pretty awesome)Bloc Party shirt for $30cdn at the merch booth.

Since our bus was leaving back to Kitchener at 11:30, we had to leave about halfway into BP's set, and I realized on my way out that some prick had stolen my shirt. That was $30 of my last $50 til next pay, and I'm pissed off that someone would go into another's bag IN THE MIDDLE OF AN AUDIENCE and steal. I'm just thankful that my ipod was still there.

tl;dr;I'malazybastard: Shirt I bought at a concert was stolen.

Talk about bad experiences that you Pit Monkeys have had at concerts.

First off, it's $30 canadian, you buttfuck.

I brought my ipod cause I had an hour and a half bus ride to get to Toronto.

I didn't wear the shirt because I still had some faith in people. I was wrong in doing so.

This is what I thought. I went to see Bloc Party at the end of last year in Brisbane, and the first thing I did after buying the shirt was put it on.

That's unfortunate and really pathetic on their part.

My first "story" is seeing KISS in concert. That's about as traumatic as it gets when it comes to shows, unless you count death.

My second is being in the car after seeing another terrible show (don't care to mention who I saw) with my two buddies who were smoking a lot of pot while trying to find our way back to the cabin one of their parents own. We ended up getting pulled over and the one who was driving (and had some on him still) was arrested. Me and my other friend spent the rest of the night/most of the following day getting his ass out of there.

By the by, if you're ever in Rochester, Indiana and you get arrested, call Al Putt to get you out. He's a scary man with tons of cats and porn in his office, but he's pretty good at the bail bond gig

When I go to concerts, the shirts are usually $45 each. This is in Oz by the way.

In theory, no, but bands can and will jack up the price at concerts, just because they know fans will still pay to get merch. Kthx.

Anyways, enough debate about merch prices; Any more stories?

I wouldn't've taken a bag with me to a concert, I'd've just taken my wallet and my phone and put them in zip up pockets so they definitely wouldn't've been stolen. After all, why would you need a whole bag (let alone an iPod)?

In any case, I guess this is just a life lesson. Next time don't bring a bag, just wear the tshirt when you get it.

Go Bloc Party!
But, yeah, you should wear your shirt next time? I always break in my concert shirts at the concert. And doesn't the backpack get uncomfortable?

Erm... I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty unimpressed with Bloc Party as of late. They're ungrateful pricks if you ask me. Maybe that's just the anger from losing the shirt talking, but yeah.

And I didn't really have a choice with the backpack, we spent the day in T.O., so in combo with the ipod(again, for the bus ride) as well as all other things(sweater, keys, wallet, blah blah), I had to take it.

EDITBITCHZ: ^^^^^Yeah I learned my lesson with the whole backpack thing, regardless of what I had with me. Hopefully next time one of us will drive.

Have you seen the way they close their shows?? Any other band is pretty much in awe that people would actually come see their band play, and thanks the crowd to the nth degree.

Bloc Party, on the other hand, just drops their instruments when they're done without even so much as a thank you. If you've seen any interviews with them, you'd soon realize that Kele Okereke(lead voc's) is a total prick, and in my opinion, is aiming to focus the band around himself. That is becoming more and more evident as they release more albums. I shouldn't have said it that way, because I don't have a problem with the other members really.

Just my opinion.

It was an oppurtunistic theft- they saw the bag, opened it, and grabbed the first thing. You'd have to be a pretty dumbass thief to go rooting around in someone's bag for their most valuable possession at a gig when it's on their back- you open, grab whatever and scarper. Otherwise you'll get caught.

I did read all the way through, and still didn't see you say you had anything that warranted an entire bag.

Pretty sure I said that I had my ipod, headphones, keys, sweater(who wears a sweater in a crowd at a concert lol, way too hot for that), wallet, and the shirt I planned on buying, which got stolen. Also I had the shirt I got for free when I was outside in line.
