For some reason my last thread didn't work. So here it goes.

I need some new pups for my guitar.
I have a 2007 Gibson Explorer. It currently has the stock pick-ups and they aren't doing it for me.

I run the gibson through a Peavey JSX halfstack.

I play a fair amount of metal, such as Metallica, Black Sabbath, Dethklok.
But I do play some newer rock like Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters.
I play Classic Rock as well (Motorhead, AC/DC, etc.)
But Mostly metal.

I was looking at getting some active pickups. Possibly the EMG 81/60, 'cause i kinda want a sound Hetfield has on ...And Justice for All.

If you guys have any suggestions on what pickups I should look at would be great.

Thanks.

get some seymour duncan blackouts.
To deny our own impulses, is to deny the very thing that makes us human.

Try messing with the EQ on your amp. The guitar and pickup's you have now should get you everywhere you want for metal.

Spretzel Locking Tuners
Graphtech Nut & String Tree

It's not so much just the sound. The fact that my pickups get an insane amount of feedback.
I've tried other guitars on my amp, and none have gotten feedback like this. Sure theres the cases where i want some good feedback. But anytime I turn my amp to 3 My pickups go wild.

Also I want something that holds up better under all the gain I use. I like hihg gain and my pickups don't seem to keep up.
They also hum. Alot. It's annoying.

I also like something with more of a low end. I tend to have lower mids and highs and boost the bass.
