I have around $400 to spend on a new acoustic guitar. I have already looked at the <$300 thread, but I am looking for a few more ideas. I have gone to guitar center, and I really liked the Seagulls, but I am not limiting myself just to one brand. I am looking for an acoustic that can be used for acoustic rock, bluegrass, and everything else (except country). I also prefer a 1.72 nut. Thanks
That criteria best suits a guitar without strings.
Alvarez held up very well in the Brand Elimination Battle; I had always considered them to be a discount brand. Lots of people loved them deeply, so maybe they are worth consideration.
For that price range, you can get a low-end Martin. I've owned several and loved them all, HPL construction notwithstanding.
yamaha fg750 is nice guitar.
