After two years of owning it, I finally got around to replacing the plug on the power cord of my Bassman head (the old plug was missing the ground pin).

Now when I play there is no electric discharge coming from the amp (it use to shock me if I touched any metal on the amp). Also, there was a slight buzzing noise before that I've noticed is gone

I apologize for my ****ty photography skills lol

She sounds as sexy as she looks :

I seriously wish that I could... however I have no proper way to record - all I have is the crappy built in mics on my laptop

You know, maybe you should get it checked out first. I'd be happy to give it a thorough going over for you.

Nah - I'm more of a classic metal guy. You know, the whole "Old school, JCM800" metal; hence the Ashdown Fallen Angel (dark, high gain, british voiced amp ). And with that you also need something with phenomenal cleans (Ya know, to pull of that 'Kirk Hammett Fender clean' type tone).

That's a rig that I definitely 'would'

Play some Sabbath through it

Oh I do! These amps see a lot of Sabbath and Zeppelin as well as Metallica, Maiden, Motorhead, etc.

I saw one of those in my local shop, I wouldn't buy that amp but it seems like a good one.

Which one did you see? Blackface? Silverface? Tweed? Although they are the same models they sound different.

I massively dislike Ashdown, but that's just me...

You've reminded me that I must buy one of those old MM HD heads.

Oh yea, they aren't everyone's cup of tea - I'll be the first to admit that.

And I'm glad my thread helped you lol

I don't remember at all, but I just remember seeing an amp a lot like that.

They also had a very old Ampeg.

I was pretty close to buying a blackface bassman last year, but the day I played it I went home to think about it, came back early the next day and it was gone. I was pissed.

The whole Blackface vs. Silverface debate seems to be blown out of proportion , I have never been disappointed by a Silverface fender amp.

Is that a Guitar Hero sticker on the SG?

Yes it is - it adds an extra 10db of gain to my signal path

Ahhh that really sucks. Its hard to beat the tone of a Bassman. Keep searching - you will find one somewhere
