i wonder if this is common and if anyone can give me any tips on things to do to correct it, basically my little finger when not used and when playing sclaes ect seems to be very stiff and tends to want to pull right away from the fret board, my ring finger dopes aswell but not anywhere near as bad.

i cant seem to play things faster because of this, i understand it will take a while to build up strength and finger independance but not sure how i should be practising to sor this out.

Thanks in advance.

Chromatic scales up and down the entire fretboard until your fingers bleed.

for these problems i always answer with chromatic scales.

basically open string to 12th on all strings and back to open low E

also maybe some spider excercises will help.

edit: damn someone beat me to it
