my amp keeps cutting out and when its cut out i turn the volume up and get like radio frequency sound or something..and when the amp decides to actually work it sometimes jumps up in volume for no reason and goes back down
Sounds like dirty pots to me. Unfortunatley, I only know what the problem is, not how to fix it.

Is it a tube amp? If it is, could be the tubes. But it is more than likely the pots.

If it is dirty pots, that's very easy to take care of. Just get some contact cleaner and clean them out.
