i think jimi hendrix is the best guitarist of all time, because at the time he rose out of all the bull**** pop and tore it up into something called rock n roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

definatly no!
MAB has less emotion than a porn guy dick

and i agree that Hendrix is the best (and my favourite)
he is among the major influences for the music of all time (and guitarists)

He is one of the best. There Buck Owens,Waylon, Duane Allman,Warren Haynes,Dereks Trucks,Dickey Betts Alex Lifeson, Albert lee, Gary Rossadale, and many other who impacted their genre. There no one whos best but there are group of greats.

Well, Jimi is definately a more emotional player..

But Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold is technically better and has an awesome playing style. I hate MAB, he has the emotional capacity of a teabag.

But without Hendrix, we would never have heard of any of these guitarists so he deserves the credit really.

AX7..god man, just just had to. I miss the pit.
so this isnt spam. Clapton was just as good as jimi.SRV too. Like I said there is no best

Possibly SRV, but Clapton isn't on the same level. He just isn't. He doesn't deserve the credit that Hendrix has.

He is the best guitarist ever, but his stuff isnt that hard to play, but hard to get his sound.

He was the rythym GOD! And he made noises no one can ever ever ever make again.

This is the most unnecessary thread ever.

Of course Jimi's the best!

In terms of innovation? Probably.

I'd say he's probably one of the best musicians and innovators, but not the best guitarist. His technique isn't nearly as good as several people had around that time.

for now he is but in the future gates will be

You seriously think he's ever going to be remembered on the level that Hendrix is?
#26
I'm sorry, but Hendrix is probably one of the most horrendously overrated guitarists of all time. Sure, he was good, but it's not like he's the only person to ever put any emotion into his songs. there are guitar players who are both far more technically talented, but can also put a lot of melody into their playing. But as charlie__flynn said, there is no such thing as a 'best' guitarist, only a more popular one.

There is not nor will there ever be a best.

Imo Jimi sucks pretty bad and the result of his success is down to him dying and just plain bandwagon fools.

Also, what he above me said ^^

i definitely think he's one of the greatest, and how can people say he's horrendous?

you might as well say Jeff Beck is, and Clapton if you think Jimi is horrible

OK, that's just taking it out of context, I said he was horrendously overrated.
