Lately, I've really been getting into acoustic works. Mostly music like Erik Mongrain, but other styles as well. I've just been thinking, maybe it's time to upgrade. So can you all recommend me some guitars to try? My budget will be around $1000, I don't have that money yet, and it'll take a while to save up, but that's my goal. I don't really mind if it's A/E or not, I can just outfit a normal acoustic with a pickup later if I really want to.

I've always been a very big Alvarez fan. I think you could probably get a very good guitar for much less than the budget you've set for yourself. Also, they do have fairly decent pick-up system if you decide to get an A/E.

Aside from them, I've always liked Seagull and Larrivee.

if he were looking to spend aroung $500, I'd be right there with you, but for a grand, the blueridges really take the cake.
