lol Maiden uses Fender Strats their as metal as you can get

I said super-strats! The majority of the guitars Ibanez makes with the pointy edged strat-shape but with 24 frets and humbucker/single-coil combinations are an example of this.

They use swapped pickups though, much higher output..
No comparison.

NO NO NO
i just dont like the look of "strats"
1 they are rounded (i also hate les pauls)
2 they have a pick guard
3 gibson make them

anyways i sugest going to a music store and playing some guitars you like the look of
and go home have a long hard thing about it have a poke around on the net looking for reviews about them
or just buy the one you like on the spot

The original Super Strat

Its a guitar desigend to play like a Fender Stratocaster, but sound like a Gibson

Do you want a trem?

Any other preferences?

You aren't giving much info to work with.

I'll just recommend Ibanez guitars in general, though. Their lower end models are a great value imo.

title. I need it to play metal, shred, and progressive.

I never answered this question:

I like Schecter's guitars a lot the C-1 Hellrasiser FR is very nice a little expensive, but you should try out any guitar first

my friend got a jackson dk2m and its amazing
im thinking about getting a schector hellraiser sunset got amazing everything on it for 550 which is crazy considering a orignal flyod rose and emg 81tw/89 would cost 400 alone plus the amazing body and finish and neck just all around great guitar for the price

I want a trem for sure. And the pickups have to be either HHS or SSH.

In that case I would recommend a Jackson then. Their LFRs are much more reliable than Ibanez's Edge III bridges.

Ibanez, but with a ZR trem.

Look into ESP LTD's M series. Really good guitars.

http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_m.html

Also, any Ibanez RG is good a long as you don't abuse the Edge 3

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=ibanez+Rg&st=

Jackson Dinkys (yeah, gay name but great guitars) are really good as well.

All these series of guitars have guitars that are under $600 and are great for the price.

Why not ESP/LTD M series, as well as MH, MHNT and H series, they're superstrats and from my experience, ESP/LTD stuff is pretty good
