Hi there guys, quick story and question. First off, I want to replace the existing pickups in my strat, once I get the money, and I figure the easiest way to do it is to buy one of those prewired pickguards. I found a set in particular, the Kirk Hammett double humbucker emg set, since obviously I am a huge Metallica fan. Now, the other day I got curious and took my pickguard off to observe what would have to be done in general to replace them, and I noticed this: The neck pickup space seems to be smaller than the bridge and middle pickup spaces, and doesn't look like it would be big enough to fit a full-sized humbucker in it.

My main question is: Will I have to do any cutting, or will the humbucker fit in correctly?
