i am wondering if putting stickers on my guitar will reck the paint. i read in a earlier post that someone wanted to make a sticker that said starpower and had a button next to it. i went and made it but not sure to put it on or not.
yeah it's prbly not going to come out with at least some minimal damage to the finish. chemical removers always seem to taint at least part of the finish in my experience..
Depending on how much you care about your guitar. Thats pretty much what it comes down to, unless whenever you remove the sticker you do a new paint job.
well it's not actually my guitar. its my old bosses flatmate's. but i haven;t heard from him in ages so it's most likely mine now.
I had stickers on a guitar for years. I peeled them right off..
I was never into the whole sticker thing...
Meh, i was young(er) and i was into the sticker thing.
I hate it now.

The removal of the sticker itself isn't usually the issue. It's the way it alters the natural aging of the paint or finish. When you put a sticker on your guitar body it protects that spot from scratches, scuffs, and just as importantly, sunlight. Years later when you remove the sticker the finish under it has not changed like the rest of the guitar and you're left with a spot that looks different. Paint usually fades over time so the sticker spot will be slightly darker. However laquered necks and headstocks normally darken with age and will give you the opposite effect. Neck darker and sticker spot lighter.
