Hey, I have been playing guitar for about 6 months now, but my guitar was laying around for about 2 years before that collecting dust. It has never had a change of strings. The other day, I was playing and my A string just snapped in front of my face. Luckily I had another electric guitar (very cheap) that no one used and I just took the A string off that one and used it for my guitar. My point is, should I buy new strings?

Yep. I generally change my strings every month but it really depends on the use.

Thanks for the reply guys. I should also note that I play rigorously every day, several hours usually so I am pretty sure that they have been used. So thanks again, I will purchase some soon.
