ok im thinking about getting one
and my only problem is that i dont know if i can use my electric amp
or if i have to get an acoustic amp


so which is it

Any amp will work, I've amplified my guitar through numerous random crap amps, and I've even managed to amplify through one type of boombox. However, an acoustic or electro-acoustic will sound a lot better through an acoustic amp.

lol i played guitar through a TV once, and its was a real guitar haha, piece of crap lowest end strat with a cable we hacked together but it was fun and it worked haha.

To the original question THE NEKRYPH is right, it is posible to play an acoustic through your electric amp but if you want to hear the natural sound of the acoustic then it should be used with an acoustic amp or mic'd up or straight through the PA.
