Hey people,

I'm currently working on a bass solo for a song working around F#m7, C#7#5 and Bm7 it's for a jazz rock type song, not really my taste so i'm looking for ideas. i've been working around the scales but really want it too be good.

Any ideas will be really helpful.

If your looking for inspiration, listen to rush, geddy lee is an awesome bassist. Very good short bass solo in YYZ. Also type in billy sheehan on youtube, awesome stuff.

Don't shred. Shred solo's sound bad on a guitar, and a million times worse on bass. Play chord tones, imply chords by adding extensions, play chord tones a beat or less before the chord hits. Just a few techniques I use.
