Are orange cabinets good and also since im a noob with this
if i wanted to get tube amp would i need a different cabinet?
#2
you can run any head through a cabinet if the ohm ratings match, regardless of tube or SS. orange cabs are great but pricey.
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.
#6
yea they are mad pricey and im currently straped for money so i need something like semi cheap but still effective
#7
avatar as mentioned above is great for people on a budget. they make pretty quality stuff.

#8
Yeah you can put any head through but make sure they both have the same ohm rating

If you are strapped for cash why are you asking for our opinions about Orange cabs

Im confused..
#10
well because my teacher mentioned them to me
and i wanted them buts mad pricey so im looking into the avatar amps
but how do i know the ohm rating kuz like i have said previously im a noob haha
#12
im looking at the avatar amps and whats the difference between traditional and contemporary lol XD
#14
but like does it matter?
and im looking into the G212H Avatar ® Traditional Custom Horizontal Guitar Amplifier Speaker Cabinet but like i have to choose the speakers
what would be good for metal
Celestion Vintage 30s, Greenback's, G12T75s, G12H30s,Classic Lead 80's, Hellatone 30s , Hellatone 60s, 60Ls, G12K100s lol thnx
#15
yes, it matters. contemporaries are almost exactly spec-d to Orange cabs, meaning that they're basically copies. if you're doing a 212, for metal, I'd do a Vintage 30 with a G12T75.
I'm putting my GAS on hold
for a couple months in order to pimp my ride.

Don't judge me.

stop looking at cabs, and start looking at heads. dont try to match a head to a cab. you should match a cab to a head.

addendum: and Theo how did you break your jaw?!?!!?

um, yeah. dont go near that line 6. try looking for a used peavey (5150, 6505) which should do that style quite nicely.

a flextone could do what you want.

When you got the cash just search like a mad man... Check ebay, craigslist, local music shops, pawn shops, guitar centers used section, our classified section and so on.
