All in the title. I've never played a tele I like as much as my strat, but I definitely prefer the way they sound to strats. Is there a way I can get some sort of hybrid tele strat that sounds like a Tele in a strat body. I improvised a plate under my bridge pup, but that didn't do much.

Ideas?

I've considered telecaster pups, but I want confirmation that it would sound different.

EDIT: I'm not really in a place to build. When I get another job yeah, but right now I'm thinking pups, electronics, wiring, etc.

Well, I've heard - and from my experience - that a Tele is more flexible than a Strat. However, if you want that sound out of a strat, tele p-ups would be my first guess to getting it close.

I like the idea of that telstar but it's kinda ugly.

Tele pups sound like the way to start for now. Any idea on possibly throwing in a middle pickup? Like the Blackout Tele or a Nashville.
