Bruce Springsteen's "The River" maybe. It's more about the trappings of Americana though

Alternatively, take a creative route and write a song about the American Dream yourself. Then analyse and interpret what you wrote.
Piece of cake and you'll get kudos for taking the initiative

We still have the concept of Manifest Destiny, why do you think we're in the Middle East?

Manifest Destiny and the Monroe Doctrine are often confused. Manifest Destiny was the notion that it was America's right to own the area that it did and stretch from sea to shining sea. you're referring to the Monroe Doctrine, which only applied to the western hemisphere. it basically said to Europe, it's ours, don't touch. we'll settle everything that goes on here, it's our job, not yours.

however, on topic, I'd agree with Working Class Hero..or for a different twist, maybe you can stretch American Pie to fit that somehow?
John Entwistle is my God. RIP.

listening to you, I get the music, gazing at you, I feel the heat, following you, I climb the mountain, I get excitement at your feet.
