I'm playing Paranoid, and muting the 12, and 10 frets, but instead of making that crunchy thump sound, it sounds like a weasel being impaled by a fence, and I dont know how to make it sound right.How do you palm mute up high?

more your hand back more towards the bridge, or add more gain/distortion

I wish my guitar sounded like that.

For higher fret palm muting, I usually back off of the the strings a little with my right hand so it isn't so muted.

It was the only task I would undertake...

dial your eq with a little bit more bass n gain if necessary.

Not to mention, Tony Iommi used to run his cable into the "bass" input on his Orange amp, so that would make a difference, most definitely.
