Ive seen people using Ampeg amps to get really high gain tones
and i've got some questions
Can you do this with any bass amp?

i think the one in the videos was an ampeg VH410C or something
can anybody give me the right name/confirm that?because i think thats the name of a Diezel amp

if you're doing this do you use the bass or guitar input?

Are tubes as important in Bass amps as they are in Guitar amps?

VH140c is an Ampeg amp... you use the guitar to get that tone.

Most bass amps nowadays are solid state, although you still have tube amps for bass guitars.

The VH140c is actually VERY highly regarded by alot of metal guitar players and bands.

Ashdown is another company that made a high gain amp, the 'Fallen Angel' but it's also discontinued. See the Sunn Beta Lead as well.

i know, i wasnt saying NOT to get the vh140c i want one myself... he just kept asking for bass amps for high gain, i just thought it would be easier to grab a guitar high gain amp... as ive never considered the vh140c a "bass amp".. more or less.

Many use bass amps for guitar. Just not many bass amps have any kind of onboard distortion.
